48. ஆற்றின் ஒழுக்கி அறன்இழுக்கா; இல்வாழ்க்கை
நோற்பாரின் நோன்மை உடைத்து.
மற்றவரையும் அறநெறியில் ஒழகச்செய்து, தானும் அறம் தவறாத இல்வாழ்க்கை, தவம் செய்வாரைவிட மிக்க வல்லமை உடைய வாழ்க்கையாகும்.
Behold the householder who helpeth others in the abservance of their vows and who leadeth a virtuous life himself: he is a greater saint than those who betake themselves to a life of fasting and prayer.
